Degree/Certificate Type: A.S. Degree

The Child Development Associate in Science Degree is for students with varied professional goals related to working in direct services with culturally diverse infants, toddlers, preschool and/or school-aged children, and their families.

Subject: Communication Studies

Degree/Certificate Type: A.A.-T Degree

The goal of the Communication Studies 2.0 Associate in Arts for Transfer program is to prepare students for transfer to a California State University to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies or a similar major.

Subject: Computer Programming

Degree/Certificate Type: A.S. Degree

Computer programming skills are a vital component of many careers. This degree is intended as a stepping stone into the modern workforce. Students earning this degree will be prepared to write programs, apps, and web design if the appropriate sequence of courses is chosen. Students intending to transfer will require further coursework.

Subject: General Education

Degree/Certificate Type: Certificate of Achievement

To earn a Certificate of Achievement in CSU General Education Breadth, the student must complete the requirements detailed in the CSU-GE Breadth Pattern in the catalog. Each course must be completed with a grade of C or better, and 70% of the required courses must be completed within the Yosemite Community College District. Students who plan to transfer to the CSU should consult with a counselor regarding optimal selection of courses and General Education certification.

Degree/Certificate Type: A.S. Degree

This Associate in Science Degree will provide students with the skills and knowledge needed for direct entry into the workforce. This degree is accredited by the American Culinary Federation Educational Foundation Accrediting Commission.

Subject: Culinary Arts

Degree/Certificate Type: Certificate of Achievement

This certificate encompasses all the competencies needed to gain employment in the culinary arts field. This certificate is accredited by the American Culinary Federation Educational Foundation Accrediting Commission.

Subject: Customer Service

Degree/Certificate Type: Certificate of Competency

The courses required for the certificate will help students succeed in current or future jobs, their personal lives and/or their own businesses.

Subject: Hospitality

Degree/Certificate Type: Certificate of Competency

The Dining Room Staff Skills Attainment Certificate prepares students for entry level employment in Front of the House positions such as busser, host/hostess, expediter, or food runner.

Subject: Automotive Technology

Degree/Certificate Type: A.S. Degree

A Drive Train Technician AS degree recipient will have demonstrated competencies necessary to diagnose, service, and maintain suspension systems, braking systems, manual transmissions, automatic transmissions, transaxles, and differentials.

The goal of the Early Childhood Education Associate in Science for Transfer program is to prepare students for transfer to a California State University to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Child and Adolescent Development, Human Development, Education, or Liberal Studies.

Degree/Certificate Type: A.A.-T Degree

The goal of the Associate in Arts in Economics for Transfer program is to prepare students for transfer to a California State University to pursue a B.A. or B.S. in Economics. The program is intended and designed to make the transfer of Columbia College students to CSU as seamless as possible. The major requirements of this degree align with the Transfer Model Curriculum. It is the most efficient pathway for students desiring to transfer to CSU in a similar major in a timely manner. Students should consult with a counselor to determine whether this degree is the best option for their transfer goals.

Degree/Certificate Type: Certificate of Competency

Students successfully completing the certificate coursework will possess industry entry-level skills for electrical and air conditioning systems servicing, diagnosis, and repair.

Subject: Elementary Teaching

Degree/Certificate Type: A.A.-T Degree

The goal of the Associate in Arts in Elementary Teacher Education for Transfer program is to prepare students for transfer to a California State University to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies, K-8 Teacher Preparation Program. The program is intended and designed to make the transfer of Columbia College students to CSU as seamless as possible. The major requirements of this degree align with the Transfer Model Curriculum.

Degree/Certificate Type: A.S. Degree

Have you ever had to deal with a medical emergency? Do you feel knowledge in Emergency Medical Services is a valuable knowledge to have in today’s society? First Responders, Law Enforcement and Military personnel work on the frontlines of health care, providing time-critical support to community members who find themselves in need of medical assistance.

This certificate will prepare a student to take a national test to become an EMT and prepare them to enter a paramedic program.

Students successfully completing the certificate coursework will possess entry-level industry skills for engine performance and air conditioning systems.

The Engine Repair Skills Attainment Certificate encompasses the skills necessary to become successfully employed, performing engine-related diagnostics and repairs.

Subject: Engineering

Degree/Certificate Type: A.A.-T Degree

The Associate in Science Degree - Engineering Fundamentals is designed to give students the background in math and physical sciences for a course of study in Engineering at a university.

Degree/Certificate Type: A.A.-T Degree

The goal of the English Associate in Arts for Transfer program is to prepare students for transfer to a California State University to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in English or a similar major.

Subject: English Language Learning

Degree/Certificate Type: Certificate of Achievement

This certificate is awarded to students who have completed sufficient coursework in the English language. The courses focus on speaking, reading, writing, and listening for practical, professional, and academic communication.
