regulations of the U.S. government for issuing F-1 student visas.

International Applicant Deadlines
Please submit all items on the application checklist below by the deadlines listed. Spring 2025 (January 13 - May 3, 2025)
Apply by November 1st for new students Apply by December 1st for transfer students
Official Records of Study:You must submit official records or certified copies of your academic records for
all secondary and post-secondary study. Records should list the subjects studied and
the grade or mark received. The college expects official copies of the original document
in the official language of the educational system. If that language is not English,
an official translation must be attached. Lower division international courses will
be accepted if evaluated by a member of theAssociation of Credential Evaluation Services(NACES).
English Proficiency(TOEFL or IELTS): We accept TOEFL (60+ preferred), IELTS (6.0 preferred) and Duolingo
(105 preferred).
Proof of Financial Support:Submit proof of financial support issued within the last six months, showing you meet
the minimum estimated expenses required of $24,580. All documentation and bank statements
must be in English. Your proof of financial support may come from multiple sources.
Each source must provide all of the required documentation. Items that you can submit
to provide proof of financial support include:
F-1 Student Sponsor Formand required documentation (either a letter from a bank official or balance statement
confirming the account holder’s name and the amount of funds available. Use this form
if the applicant or sponsor account balance(s) meet the minimum amount required.
United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Form I-134, Affidavit of
Support,including required supporting documentation. Please read and follow the instructions
carefully. Use this form only if the financial sponsor does not have the minimum amount
required available in a bank account but has the means to provide the required financial
support (bank balance(s) and income).
A financial support letter from a government agency or scholarship award letter.

Autobiographical Essay:Please write an autobiographical essay in English. It should include information relevant
to your study in the U.S. and at Columbia College, your study plans, your educational
and personal background, and anything else that you would like to share.
Medical Insurance:All non-immigrant students are required to purchase medical insurance for each year
of attendance at Columbia College throughInternational Student Insurance (ISO).
Copy of Passport:Provide a color copy of your passport identification page and copies of the passport
identification page for any dependents who will accompany you to the U.S.
Transfer Students:if you are an F-1 student currently attending another college, university, or language
school, you are eligible for transfer if you have maintained your F-1 visa status.
The following documents are required if you are applying as a transfer student:
Copies of I-20’s from all U.S. schools you have attended
Copies of the visa and identification pages from your passport
Copy of your current I-94
Official transcript(s) from all schools you have attended in the U.S.
